UnregulatedAbout Angle ProtocolAngle Protocol, developed by Angle Labs and backed by a16z-led $5M seed round, launched in 2021 as the leading decentralized Euro stablecoin (agEUR, later EURA). The protocol expanded to include USDA for USD exposure and on-chain forex trading at true rates. Its architecture combines a Transmuter module for stable asset swaps, a borrowing module for collateralized stablecoin minting, and Direct Deposit Modules (AMOs) for protocol-level liquidity deployment. Savings products (stEUR, stUSD) offer native yield from protocol revenue. Smart contracts were audited by Chainsecurity, Sigma Prime, and Code4rena, with bug bounties on Immunefi. In early 2026, DAO governance voted to wind down the protocol, with all stablecoins remaining fully collateralized and redeemable 1:1 until March 2027. The team has pivoted to Merkl, an incentive distribution platform.
