About crvUSDcrvUSD is a collateralized-debt-position (CDP) stablecoin issued by Curve Finance enabling users to mint USD-pegged tokens by depositing overcollateralized crypto assets including Ethereum, wrapped staked Ether, and Frax staked Ether on Ethereum and other EVM blockchains. crvUSD is designed to provide a more capital-efficient stablecoin mechanism and smoother liquidations, while maintaining a decentralized design which the Curve DAO governs. crvUSD uses an innovative mechanism called LLAMMA (Lending-Liquidating AMM Algorithm) to reduce the risk of liquidations where instead of instantly triggering a liquidation at a specific price, a user's collateral is converted into stablecoins across a smooth range of prices.
