About USDCxUSDCx is a USD-denominated stablecoin on the Aleo network designed for confidential, programmable payments. It is issued on Aleo via Circle’s xReserve infrastructure and is backed 1:1 by USDC locked in Circle-managed xReserve smart contracts on Ethereum. This reserve-backed model is intended to support interoperability between USDCx on Aleo and USDC on supported chains without relying on third-party bridge custody. Aleo is a zero-knowledge smart contract platform where transaction data can be encrypted by default. Within Aleo’s private execution model, USDCx transactions can keep sensitive details—such as sender, recipient, and transferred amount—from being publicly visible on-chain. This design is positioned for workflows where confidentiality is commonly required, including payroll, vendor payments, and treasury operations. Circle and Aleo publicly introduced USDCx on Aleo testnet in December 2025, with Mainnet launch on January 27, 2026.
